The Articulation Textile Group is composed of the following:
Miriam Birkenthal (Winnipeg, MB)

Study of the arts has been a lifelong journey for Miriam, starting with children's Saturday morning classes at Art School, to her present involvement with the City & Guilds classes in Design and Embroidery. Along the way drawing, painting, pottery and needlework have been her main interests.
Donna Clement (Calgary, AB)
Donna approached the field of Fibre Art from a unique background. After completing her degree in Engineering at the University of Alberta, she worked in the oil patch in Calgary before starting a family. She lived in Scotland for four years where she was able to take advantage of the proximity of Europe and travel extensively. Since returning to Canada she has been exploring handwork through various arts and crafts. Through the Bow Valley Calligraphy Guild (Calgary) she became involved in book arts. But with the completion of the City & Guilds program in Embroidery and Design, she has been thrown into the world of textiles and all forms of needlework and, most importantly for her, the component of design. Leann Clifford (Regina, SK)

Embroidery and Colour Correspondence classes. An active member of the Medicine Hat Art Club, the Medicine Hat Fibre Art Club and Regina Stitchery Guild, Leann continues to bring enthusiasm and knowledge for textiles and stitchery to the community. Her work consists of the hands on application of colour and texture to achieve the desirable results.

Wendy Klotz (Calgary, AB)

Born in England, Wendy has lived in Canada since 1967. She has a background in pottery and quilting but presently works predominantly with silk and organza enjoying their translucent and reflective qualities. She combines surface design techniques, layers and stitch to give dimension and depth to her wall hangings and 3D pieces. She is currently exploring different presentation mechanisms to place physical separation between some of the layers. Wendy takes inspiration for her work from the natural beauty of Canada together with ecological and social issues that speak to her heart. (click here for information via blog)
Ingrid Lincoln (Winnipeg, MB)

Ingrid Lincoln is a textile artist who works with dye and thread. She is most interested in colour on cloth, finding images beneath the surface and marking the cloth with needle and thread; both machine and hand. Her works include wall hangings and wearables. She takes her inspiration from her surroundings which she interprets through texture and colour unique to the fibre.
Vickie Newington (Calgary, AB)

Travelling to other countries made Vickie realize how much she enjoys architecture, especially the crumbling, deteriorating kind. Mother Nature and man-made architecture inspire much of her work. She finds she is working more with lines, form and especially texture. These new pieces are inspired by the colours of a leaf, the texture of a rusty piece of iron, or the lines of an old sidewalk with leaves fallen on it. Today, Vickie works full time as a fibre artist and has works in several private collections. She shows regularly in venues as geographically diverse as Vancouver, British Columbia, Wellington, Ontario, and Edmonton, Alberta. (click here for information via website)
ReBecca Paterson (Sussex, NB)

ReBecca Paterson is an artist who, in this time of her career, chooses to create with fibre and fabric. She experiments with abstracting the essence of the subject using her own photos and drawings. She dyes, paints, embroiders, and embellishes to enhance the finished artwork. ReBecca holds two Level 3 certifications with City and Guilds of London England; one in Creative Studies for Design and Embroidery, and the other in Design and Stitched Textile in Patchwork and Quilting. This formal training has given her the knowledge and freedom to go beyond the main stream and explore new creative journeys. She resides among the beautiful rolling hills of the Kennebecasis Valley in southern NB. (click here for information via blog)
